Here, the young girls were able to attend a regular course of study, where alongside reading, writing and counting, they learned the art of sewing, as well as music and drawing. In 1844, the school was expanded considerably, becoming a kind of boarding school.\r\n\r\nSpontini allocated an annual contribution to the school for the running of the house and for the girls' board.
